The Clearbrook Mennonite Brethren Church was begun in 1936 to serve the needs of Mennonite Brethren settlers in the area. In addition, many talented musicians use their gifts to glorify the Lord. The German Choir and Chancel Choir enhance the worship services. At the same time, younger families from varying backgrounds preferring a more conservative style of worship have also been attracted to the church. Its music and style of worship appeal to the older generation. As a result, the church has focussed on ministries to seniors. Over the years, the Clearbrook M.B. Church has changed with the community around it. Multistorey condominiums for seniors surround the church. Other members are active in door to door evangelism. The Ladies Fellowships sew more than 2, 000 blankets for the MCC each year. Mission work and humanitarian services have had strong support from the Clearbrook M.B. Church. Many of its members continue to be active as volunteers in the community. From those early pioneer days, the church grew to a membership of over 700. In addition to helping in the formation of a church at Lake Errock, the Clearbrook M.B. Church had an active part in the beginning of the Bakerview M.B. Church, with a number of its members becoming founding members there. In 1957 a larger sanctuary was built followed by some additions in later years. In the early' 40s the small congregation bought the present land the church is situated on for $1.00 from the municipality, and asked each member to pay a $5.00 levy to help finance the construction of a church building. The church is also known for its strong, Bible based preaching.
